Property Tax Changes

The map has been updated to show how property taxes would change with a 1.3204% tax rate and a $15,000 Homestead Exemption, as proposed by Mayor Nutter on March, 16th. Read more on our Taxes project page.

Additional information was added to the parcel roll-over.

OPA has assessed approximately 8,500 properties which were not previously assessed for AVI. Those newly assessed properties (mostly concentrated in the northwest) have been added to the map.

The map was updated to show how taxes would change with a tax rate of 1.32% and a $15,000 Homestead Exemption. New ranges were added to the map legend, as well as new colors, to better fit the new tax calculations. Style changes were also made to the map elements to better match the AxisPhilly website style.

Parcels that have not yet been reassessed under AVI--mostly concentrated in the northwest--were incorrectly added to this map. They have been removed. Parcels that were not originally shown--mostly parcels with abatements--have been added. Parcels that could not be matched to a tax record are not shown. The legend has also been adjusted to better fit the data.
